CCISD Moves to Xello: A College-Planning Guide for Clear Lake Families

Clear Lake families with students in Clear Creek ISD have a new tool to learn this fall: Xello, which replaces Naviance for college and career planning in the 2026–27 school year. The change matters especially for seniors coordinating applications, transcripts and recommendations. The district said access to existing Naviance information would continue through August 31 and directs students to begin new planning activities in Xello. Keep applications and documents connected

For families who have already submitted a college application, CCISD directs students to use Xello to arrange delivery of the required school documents. Its guidance also distinguishes Common App from ApplyTexas: students using ApplyTexas add the institution in Xello, select “Direct to Institution” and request their documents there. A useful first task is to sit down with the student’s college list and check that each application has a corresponding plan for its supporting paperwork. In Xello’s standard transcript workflow, the student creates an application tracker, enters the application method and deadline, then makes a transcript request from that college’s checklist. The tracker also provides a way to follow what happens next. Students can check whether the school has processed or sent the transcript and see available updates on its progress with the college. Connect Common App and school forms

Common App users have an additional connection to make. Xello’s guide explains how students link the two accounts, complete the required release authorization in Common App and assign a counselor in Xello to handle school forms. Give parents their own access
